The Grand Barn and dining

The Grand Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies. Built as the farm’s winter machinery barn we have a large open area perfect for intimate ceremonies and an evening spent dancing the night away.

We can accommodate up to 120 seated guests for dining. Couples can choose between wooden benches or cross back chairs to use with our hand made banqueting tables. We can also cater for a further 60 evening guests.

The barn is a labyrinth of cosy corners and lounges for intimate chats and alternative dining options. The barn is tastefully decorated with period furniture and vintage lighting to create a timeless ambience. All of these fixtures and fittings are included in your weekend hire price.

Dining at The Willow Marsh farm is offered by a choice of wonderful local suppliers that will be able to create something delicious tailored to your requirements. A list of our preferred catering partners can be provided when requested and starts at around £50 a head. Food is prepared and cooked on site in our farm kitchen adjacent to the stables.

The Bar

The antique bar is set within the Grand Barn. Our lovely staff will be on hand to chill and serve drinks from behind the bar all day until last orders at 11:30 pm. Celebrations at the farm conclude at midnight.

We have a second antique pop up bar that we use to serve your reception drinks in the location of your choice. Popular areas include our beautiful covered outdoor terrace or in our Stables in front of the log burning fire. Drinks receptions take place after your ceremony and we benefit from two inside heated spaces and two wonderful outside locations to choose from.

We have an extensive range of beverage options for you and your guests to enjoy on your wedding day. As a guide our reception drinks and table wine pricing starts at £25 a head.

Your assigned weekend coordinator will tailor a package of drinks to suit your exacting requirements during one of your on site planning meetings here at the farm.

The Terrace

Our south facing stone terrace follows the sun around The Grand Barn creating the perfect outdoor space for dancing, dining or sipping champagne. Our ornamental cast iron pergola at the rear allows the space to be covered for protection against the rain or sun allowing year round use of the outdoors and views of the estate. Draped in chandeliers, the ambient light means the terrace can be enjoyed into the evening.

The Farm

Set in 160 acres of rolling grassland, lakes and marshes our family farm is completely unique. Our marshes and lakes are bursting with bright green botanicals that make for incredible photography.

We are situated on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire & Derbyshire in the heart of the rural East Midlands. Loughborough train station is only a 10 minute journey South, connecting us easily and directly to London in one hour.

THE STABLES

Our recently restored stables sit at the heart of the farm, adjacent to the Parlour and the Grand Barn. Two elegantly glazed stone archways great your guests as they are welcomed into this unique space. During the summer and into early autumn the stables are and adorned with flowers and the glazed doors open each end to let outside in. As we move towards the cooler months the large central fire is lit and the space becomes a warm inviting refuge from the weather outside.

The stables are available as a space to host intimate wedding ceremonies or memorable drinks receptions.
